Little Scientist
Making Science Accessible
I designed and led the visual identity for Little Scientist, a magazine funded by the UK Embassy to spark scientific curiosity among Cambodian children. Conceived as a fun, educational, and inclusive medium, it also introduces young readers to English through an integrated bilingual approach.
THE CHALLENGE
Making science accessible from an early age while reflecting the country's real diversity. The layout employs a colourful visual language, a modular grid, and clear hierarchy to encourage independent reading. Characters—women, minorities, children with disabilities—are portrayed naturally and equitably, meeting a strong demand for neutrality and inclusivity in educational content.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Over 20,000 copies printed and distributed to schools, libraries, and community centres across all Cambodian provinces.
Multi-platform dissemination (print, educational videos, social media, website), ensuring graphic consistency across all channels.
Close collaboration with educators to tailor layout and information hierarchy to pedagogical needs.
Contributed to the spread of scientific culture in rural areas with limited access to such resources.
Highlighted young Cambodian talents in illustration and educational design.
